Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays is a new method being used in some dental offices that allows dentists to reduce radiation exposure associated with traditional X-rays. To take digital X-rays, a small sensor unit is used that sends pictures to a computer to be recorded and saved. X-ray pictures allow you to view any potential problems such as cavities, hidden dental structures, and bone loss that cannot be detected during a visual examination.
Digital X-rays are scheduled when you need them based on your age, risk for disease, and signs of disease. They may also be done as follow-up after dental treatments.
The real-time dental information provided by digital X-rays will help you make more informed decisions of you treatment with regards to your dental health.
